The 14th class of Memphis Fellows graduated in mid-May. The weekend was a celebration of the Lord’s providence and faithfulness. The Fellows, their families, friends, and Memphis Fellows community rejoiced in how the Lord worked during the past nine months.
We are already preparing for our 15th class of Fellows that arrive in September. We anticipate welcoming 10 Fellows the week of Labor Day. As we prepare for the new class we are recruiting Host Families, Mentors and people willing to help us make connections in Memphis for Work Placements. We have Fellows with backgrounds in Business, Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, Sports Management, Journalism, Psychology, and Religious Study.
Welcome to Memphis! We are thrilled you are here!
Equipping future leaders since 2005
We are the Memphis Fellows Program at Second Presbyterian Church. What is a Fellow and what is the Fellows Program?
A Fellows Program is an intensely practical nine-month spiritual and vocational leadership program that prepares you to live a seamless life of faith. The program includes a part-time job in your field of interest, biblical coursework, bible study, mentoring, and service. All of this takes place in community with the other Fellows in your class. By participating in a Fellows Program, you will discern how your story fits into God's story. You will start your post-college years with a strong foundation for a cohesive life of faith—a full life that seamlessly weaves together your career, your personal life, and your place in God's story. You'll begin to answer some of life's most important questions: As a person who follows Christ, how do you think about work, culture, friendships and experiences?
We begin our year with an opening retreat allowing a time for our community to begin to form and develop. During the fall we get to know Memphis by touring and volunteering as we cultivate a love of the city and the people. We attend a regional Micah 6:8 Justice Conference in November. Our spring includes a silent and prayer retreat, Nashville Trip with all Tennessee Fellows programs, Mission Memphis, women and men's retreat, attending the Fellows Initiative National Conference in Washington, a cultural tour of Washington immersing ourselves in what we have learned in the classroom, and our closure retreat.
